Jonathan Barkat grew up in Cape May, NJ and attended college in Philadelphia.After graduation he moved to New York where he lived for six years before returning to Philadelphia.Though he first enjoyed working with a camera in high school, the first part of his college years were spent painting and drawing. This background informs his work and approach to image making. His work has been recognized by Photo District News and the International Photography Awards.
